If you’re looking to build a healthy body and lifestyle, then one of the first goals on your mind might be to reduce your fat. Whether you’re worried about the impact your weight might have on your body or you simply don’t like how you look in the mirror, it can be tempting to look for shortcuts to decrease your body fat. However, do they really exist?
Do fat-burning pills work?
We have all been taught to remain skeptical when it comes to any pills or supplements that offer to be the solution to our problems. This is a wise reaction, as there have been plenty of fads that have ranged to ineffective to outright dangerous. Fat burners have drawn a lot of skepticism in particular. While a lot of people attest to their effectiveness, they are not an easy solution. Some aim to increase your metabolism or to reduce the amount of fat you absorb. While some of the common ingredients in them are known to have these effects, you might do better to find ways to ingest these ingredients, such as caffeine and green tea extract, naturally, as the pills themselves aren’t regulated by the FDA, so there are no guarantees with them.
The direct route
If you’re looking for something that’s more of a “sure thing,” with immediately visible results, then the surgical option is often the one that’s worth the most consideration. In particular, you might want to check out some videos about liposuction surgery. This surgical procedure involves making an incision and directly sucking the fat out of the body with a suction tube. This is naturally very effective at removing the fat that rests below the skin, though it’s not able to reach everything. In particular, it can’t reach the visceral fat that can build around the organs, so a healthy lifestyle is still necessary.
At-home options
One of the fat-burning methods that you might not have heard of before is what is commonly called cool sculpting, or cryolipolysis. Effectively, this method involves freezing fat cells which can then be removed naturally by the body There are tools that can allow you to do this in the comfort of your own home, as well. While certainly not as quick or able to remove quite as much fat as liposuction, there are plenty of people who attest to its effectiveness in helping them burn fat more quickly.
Intermittent fasting
Any diet that requires you to reduce your caloric intake too much is worth side-eying, as this can have more detrimental effects than positive ones. However, intermittent fasting, which involves timing your food, typically so that you don’t eat past 9pm, has been shown to be effective for a lot of people, as a habit for managing how much you snack.
There are, certainly, techniques and options that can help you reduce your fat more quickly than dieting and exercise alone would. However, these active steps to improve your lifestyle must be a part of the equation, or else it’s all very likely to come back at some point.
